We get a lot of insight into Rei. We get a flashback of him playing against one of his father’s friends and him explaining his motivations for learning and playing shogi. A few big reveals related to that.
And Rei picks Momo up from school and it’s really cute. She gets injured and we get flashbacks from Rei and learn that he had a little sister who died with his parents. That made me really sad for him. This show really is pulling on my heart. I’m not sure where it’s taking me but I want to keep going with it.
