Hina asks to learn shogi. Rei tries to teach her but he’s a bit stuffy. His friend/shogi rival has a picture book. And there’s a song with anthropomorphic cats…
This was an interesting episode. It reflected different sides of Rei really well: his need for human connection and his anxiety about it, his relationship with a childhood shogi rival, how he tries to teach shogi. I like seeing more about him.
