Kousei is not doing well after his visit to the hospital. He’s not motivated to play.
When Kaori gets out of the ICU she lectures him and tells him he needs to get back to practicing. She’ll be in surgery the day of his competition and she’ll be fighting the whole time.
As Kousei starts to perform he does predominantly think of Kaori but he also thinks about the other people important to him who are in the audience.
